Possums are not the cute furry things to New Zealand as they are for Australia. You can go and kill them if you like and make money for it. Since they kill animals and vegetation in NZ they are public enemy number one. They have been brought over from Oz and the Kiwis want them gone sir. The merino fur is really nice. Teenagers go possum shooting to make some beer money. I hoped we might hit one with the car, just lightly, but no such luck :o)
