Arrived in Honister for Stair to do Via Ferreta. Sat people watching around some awesome scenery & learnt a few things. Everybody here runs or cycles, even to get a coffee and even if you're 95. The cyclists, I'll warn you, are all psychopaths. It's also fine to wear shorts, long socks and walking boots as standard.
The drive was interesting. I learnt a few things about the Lake District; the sheep are suicidal and it's acceptable to keep sheep & horses together. It's also acceptable to drive at 10mph in a car with a 2 litre engine.
We then arrived at our beautiful cottage. It's amazing. There's a secret garden and no people around!
We found the pub, using our unbelievable map reading skills and natural gift at sniffing at beer. Fab the dog is trained to sniff out mini cheddars, without her we wouldn't of made it.
