OKTOBERFEST - Germany
Let the fun Begin, and it definitely did.
One of my many highlights of our trips, Oktoberfest.
we explored the city, climbed up the tower to watch the Rathaus. Placed high above on the front of the Rathaus is the famous mechanical clock which attracts visitors to watch the life size figures dance, joust on horseback and many more movements. The clock has 43 bells and 32 life-sized figures in a 260 foot tower, which reenacts two scenes from Munich's history.
After this we learnt about the devils foot print then back to the camp site after some lunch and of course being that we were dressed in our lederhosen's we were assumed by other tourists to be German, stopped on many occasions for photos and asked questions which we didn't understand because it was in German! Fun times.
We met some amazing people on this trip from New Zealand and met up with the Famous Beth one of my best friend in London and Helen.
After our day of the city the next day was to explore the grounds at Oktoberfest which means.... 1ltr steins here we come ... after some awesome rides then back to the tent for more steins then more rides which might I add the more steins Chris had the more rides he snuck onto without paying, shhh.' but with 5/6 steins later i decided to leave my very drunk boyfriend to his new found friends and head off with Beth on some more rides and some YUMMY chocolate coated strawberries mmmmm Yummo !
At about 10pm starting at 10am and lost count of how many steins Chris has had it was time to attempt the journey back to our freezing cold tents... This journey basically involves me and me alone to work out our way home.
We did make it, well I did Chris how ever passed out as we got to the bus stop which I guess he still made it? :-)
Oh btw we did also go on the ferris wheel I think 3 times? Because Chris didn't want to get off... Would have been romantic and amazing if I didnt have a drunk other half ;-P but that's the fun of Oktoberfest (for most).
Our last day in Munich and we decided to head out with the girls to the largest garden in Europe with lunch on the way and a random toy shop giving away free juices and pretzels.. Mmmm!
The trip was amazing, no regrets'!!!
