Snoopy town meets corpse bride!
Ok so Japan is HOT. like, seriously hot, I can barely go out without wanting to dive into the nearest air-conned shop.
Ali and I have had fun so far though. We've been to Azabu Juban, Harajuku, Shibuya and Shinjuku. Finally mastered the subway, I find it helps to make up your own names for the stations if you don't pronounce Japanese very well. We turned meiji iguame (?) into major iguana and then some others ended up as shimby kimby, satsuma and tsunami. Didn't mention this to any Japanese people of course (not that I could ahve done) as think they might find it just slightly offensive lol.
Found a teenage mall in Shibuya which was CRAZY! They were selling all kinds of crazy jewellery and hello kitty stuff. Found one necklace which was a rubber digestive biscuit on a gold curb chain, believe me I was tempted lol. I did cave in to all the pink girlyness though and bought a ridiculously sparkly pink purse with cats all over it! Love it!
Harajuku was...interesting, lots of teenagers walking around as corpse brides and french maids (apparantly it's a normal kind of 'too cool for school' thing). Got stopped by a very nice Aussie man who asked if I knew where the best place to take pictures of them all would be...slightly weird. Went to Kiddy Land which is a 5 storey department store selling every Japanese kitsch toy imagineable! They even had a floor named 'snoopy town' where everything was snoopied to the extreme - crazy stuff! Found a really strange 4 ft badger cross hedgehog cross weird forrest creature toy thing which we took photos with, I'll out the pictures up when I get them. i think it was called totoro or something.
Anyway so that's that, we're gonna back to Harajuku again at some point I think and Tokyo Disney calls next week. Umm.. yeah, too muchs trange stuff to mention, pictures will tell all :)
