The bus from Franz Josef to Nelson took from 09.15am to 6pm. But the driver was great and along the way he stopped and we got to see 'pancake rocks' which were fab. I arrived in Nelson after the long bus ride and checked into 'shortbread cottage' - probably the cutest and most homely hostel of my trip so far! A proper little house with just a few beds and a lovely living room...plus homemade shortbread on your pillow! So cute!!
Matt's mum and dad (New Zealand Emily and Matt I spent christmas with) kindly came and picked me up, took me of a tour of nelson and then to their house for a roast!!!! How kind of them, I really enjoyed my evening with them and was glad to say that I had eaten new zeland lamb before leaving new zealand!! As a sheep farmers daughter I would have had to hang my head in shame if I had left New Zealand, land of sheep, and not tried it!!
Tomorrow morning I head to christchurch, another full day on the bus. I will spend the night in the airport there (joy!) and I have a 06.40am flight on Tues 10th up to Auckland to catch my connecting flight onto Fiji. Cannot wait to get to Fiji now and meet Andrew there, yay!!
