The canals were really amazing. The Netherlands is mostly below sea level so the Dutch people created a system of Canals that go through the city. Whenever we found a canal we were immediately able to locate where we were on a map - a built in GPS system if you will. The Canals were also beautiful at night, they also served as a popular place to chain up bikes.
