Wow, what a Fall Break.
Myself and another Australian friend headed to Montreal for a music festival on the Saturday.
Boy was the drive there fun. I'm not normally a rude person, or do I speak back. But we got lost some many times, there was so much miscommunication between us both and I was failing at using a screen shot map for guidance because we didn't have reception to get us to Montreal. So it was fiesty, only a little, between us on the way. But I think that made us better friends. Especially by the end of the trip.
It took us three hours to get to Montreal and our location. Instead of an hour and a half. Then once there we found our accomodation, settled in and headed to Laval for the MRCY Festival.
Let me tell you, there was only one artist I knew at this festival and that was Mike Miller. The rest of them I had no clue. But boy did I enjoy it! The music was incredible. My favourite performance of all time was definitely July Talk. They were incredible performers and the main singer guy was amazing! New celeb crush, I think.
We caught a train back by the end of the festival after meeting more people there and drinking with the music. I love Canada because I can legally drink there again.
It was a late night and the next morning was sight seeing around the city. We went to markets and a bongo playing gathering in the park. Then we headed to Old Montreal for lunch and over to the Montreal Island for Picnik Electronik. A daytime rave on the island with music and random musical acts.
It was so relaxing. We both had a twenty minute nap while listening and drinking.
Then afterwards we headed back for all you can eat sushi, and to get changed so we could go out drinking. We ended up walking twenty minutes in I don't know what direction to find a cheap, beat down bar with country bumpkins playing music for entertainment.
It was an incredible experience.
After that, we caught a taxi back because we were a little lost and then hit the sack. We were driving to Ottawa in the morning.
