Entering the 2nd week of the trip, we have done so much in such a short period of time. Heading to St. Lucia, really hot and humid day, the camp site is in a game park so another free game drive and we seen a white rhino, Buffalo, Zebra, Warthog and Kudu After setting up camp it rained but was still really hot. that night we had a bush pig and a large spotted Genet which are quite rare to see!

Today we had a day trip to Lesotho via the Sani Pass, the only road into the Country from the South. The Sani Pass was worse than a dirt track, 14km long and took about 2 hours to drive. It climbed up the drakensberg mountains to an altitude of 2874m. 75% of the country is Baron Land with a few small settlements/villages dotted about, we visited a local sheep shearing shed where it is cut by hand and visited a village where we had some fresh cooked bread and ...

Today me and Jon went on a 7 hour hike up into the drakensberg mountains the route we walked was called the balancing rocks, height above sea level was 2200m, was quite a challenging climb at the top as got very steep, got some great photos of the surrounding area, Tomorrow we cross our first border and enter into a new country, Lesotho. This is only a day trip so will be crossing the border back into South Africa.

Disastrous day today, just after losing our rental truck the mini bus then started playing up and we were stuck in Kokstad for hours. Finally arrived in our backpackers about 7, which meant setting up our tent in the dark after the meal it started raining.

Today we had a 3hr walk to hole in the wall booked, some breath taking views of the coastal line, walked passed a waterfall with some bizarre rock formations around it, which compared to the rest of the landscape was really out of place, we reached hole in the wall and unfortunately it had clouded over, didnt swim there as temperature had dropped. Had some really nice xhosa bread with our meal that night.
