Whew! Day 2 in the Berlin. Well, not exactly Berlin.
I signed up for a concentration camp tour which is just outside Berlin. The whole thing lasted for about 5 hours.
It's interesting because this was the last concentration camp in Germany & how well it was hidden considering that it was built exactly the same year as when Berlin hosted the Olympic Games.
It was well, a tiring tour. Alot of history and so much to take in with the exact same buildings and also the termination site.
This camp is mainly a forced labour camp where people are being slaved, only men, to build boots, roads and all sorts. There are also men who became guinea pigs for testing of shoes (by Puma), medication, etc. The average lifespan of these men once they got into this division? 6 days.
Well, it is my first concentration camp visit. It's not just the Germans who were cruel. We hear stories of Sadam Hussein, other warlords & definately the Japanese. I just cannot understand why God allowed the Holocaust to happen. Was it His punishment towards the Jews due to the sins of their forefathers? Or was He trying to send some other kind of message?
I'm glad that I don't belong in that era. If the Nazis ask me to denounce my faith, I just might. And that's s***.
