Sir Hewett Of The Not So Round Table
Well, as I've said before the bridge at least serves a purpose. Thanks for the picture of the modern art piece, I got so excited that I almost punched a hole in the ceiling as I jumped for joy!
Best night of my life, possibly, very quickly followed by a very similar night the week after when we won the title. Sadly, there was no actual dance offs, I would feel dirty doing them without you. There was however an awful large amount of jumping, dancing, swaying, singing(OK, shouting off key) and hugging random blokes in Reading shirts!! I haven't turned honest! There were a few guys from work in the AD on the second night and as hard as it may be to believe, he has pictures of all of us looking trolleyed!!
Steve Irwin as well, you little beauty!
I'll sign off now and let you get on with your tick list!
Mr Mullens
I have been watching avidly the progress of the greatest team the world has ever seen. I was awake at 4am to see promotion come in. It didn't help seeing the pictures and everything but there it is, i'm supposing sympathy is thin on the ground. We met a Reading supporter in the street in Sydney. He has as strong a CV of supporting the club as any of us but went for a year out to Australia in June. I have not yet decided if it is worse not to have seen any of the season or to have know how good we are and had to leave half way through. Andy, I can imagine the carnage on that night which I'm guessing has to be the best of your life surely??? I only hope that there was at least one celebratory dance off.
Brother Mullens
That's not dave Kitson! Seriously, its Nicky Shorey! While we're on the footy theme, if you've been on Hob Nob you'll have seen that lots of videos have been made to comemorate (sp?) the occassion, this being the best one http://media.putfile.com/Reading-FC---Champions check out the mid nineties classics! Oh, and I've just noticed that all the videos etc are all on one site http://www.webbex.net/reading/ with the best clip being the '6 min promo' one. Enjoy if you can bear to watch!
Wee Cousin Clare
Hiya. Just spent an hour looking at recomended sites from uni and so that will have to count as 'research' : )
You went to Ramsay Street?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You have gone UP, not down, in your cool rating by visiting it. I am very jealous, but probably for different reasons to Andy! (Hi Andy)
Anyways I'm sure you've done loads more on your travels than that so I look forward to hearing and seeing more.
I'm chuffed (if that's the right word, it sounded like and Ian word in my head) for Reading. Where will you be when the Word Cup is on? Anywhere where English success is hated more than in Scotland?!
Have a good day, even if you can't remember which one it is!
Sir Hewett Of The Not So Round Table
Well it only went and happened. I can now die a happy man and the drinking that happened afterward, I was lucky I didn't!! I got so carried away I was even dancing on the stage at the After Dark!
I am envious of your Neighbours visit but I don't really care at the moment as I'm walking round with a stupid grin on my face!
The best moment had to be when I saw a balding man run towards the hoardings, jump over and hurl his coat into the crowd. Yes, Mr Coppell showed some emotion! I must go, as I need to prepare myself for another evening out tomorrow, ie. an early night!
Ghandi
dammm...just missed each other...good earlier timing...mandy, dna moyles & your bro went...i listened to it all on the radio & had a tear in me eye, followed by a really fun, drunken, singing (at the after dark) dancing b'day...double celebration ;0)
Mr Mullens
Hello Clare. I'm glad you like the site, keep looking in. It helps me remember where i'm up to as things go by so quickly. For example, it's a long long time since I could tell the days of the week apart! I'm in Sydney now, just finished Melbourne. New pictures and a journal log in a couple of weeks time. Yep, you've made feel a wee bit old but then I think I did that too myself too recently with, to my eternal shame, visits to Ramsay Street and the Neighbours cast. Life is that bit nearer to being complete now. Good to hear you're working hard, if you've got the Campbell genes as I understand them you'll be working that bit more than you actually need to and burning the midnight oil right to the end?! And that bit about the aliens??? That's got to be the Campbell ability to talk about anything that comes in to your head no matter what it is - i recognise it! Work hard!
Mr Mullens
Happy Days indeed. Who went to Leicester?
Ghandi
your rrrROYALS!!! ;0)
Mr Mullens
That is a unusual name Andy, I won't ask! Yep, the site's pretty useful isn't it? The map of the world and flashing dot sold it to me. It's also been christened the "track-a-mullens website". I just need to get better at updating the dot! Promotion and even Championship Saturday is fast approaching. Top birthday present for you. You may even get to see Neil Warnock bottle it too. Sadly no TV coverage of the historic event out here, especially as earth time is so different to here. I think it's 10 or 11 hours. I shall be celebrating however, don't you worry. And yes, top picture eh?
Wee Cousin Clare
Hey Paul, firstly WOW. I think that pretty much sums up my impression of your trip.
When I emailed Ian I was asking after you he directed me here. After havin a wee look yesterday I decided to come back and send you a message and was pleased to see you had updated your journal. Funny how the more uncontactable (prob not a word) someone is, the more we want to contact them. Aliens for example!
Anyhow being the great Campbell/Young that I am, Im writing this message while I should be doing uni work. Two and a half months left to go, whoop whoop! I start teaching in August. Does that make you feel old? Ah, but you are doing the young thing by travelling around the world!
Well theres fun to be had everywhere I guess, even if it is on the windy west coast of Scotland! Brrrrrr.
Love ya, stay safe and remember mothers day is March 26th :)
