In our initial planning, we wanted to stay 'in the south' and 'out of the weather', so the south band of the US is a great choice at least until February. The first state in our southern stay is Alabama, and we plan to stay here for the next 4 weeks. Partially in the north, and partially in the south by the Gulf. We are taking our time slow here, and we would like to visit the many state parks around this area, including DeSoto park, and Ruby Falls in Chattan...

Since we drove on the top of the mountains in the last couple days, we decided to take the valleys in the park, and I think we did the right decision. As soon as we took the ramp of the hwy, it was clear we are in a tourist-land. Dinner theatre, Magic shows, restaurants and lodging are all around. Lots of Pancakes and Cracker Barrel around... We decided to spend Halloween night in one of the shows in town, and chose Black Bear Jamboree, Dinner and a Show. The dinner part was not the best... but the show was great. So the first NP we wanted to visit is Shenandoah, and from there our plan is to continue to the Great Smoky mountains, and follow the Appalachian train all the way to Alabama. We had a rough start. We got stuck in the mud for almost a whole day, but finally we were on the road excited to start our trip to 'the south'. Our first stop - Shenandoah national park. We found a friendly campground - The country Waye - in Luray, VA. Very close to the caverns and not so far from the park. It has the convenience of feeling out in the woods, but actually 10 minutes from a WAL-MART... Since the wether was rainy, we decide to explore the cavern...
