Happy good morning. Today we board Bus 4E again for our trip to Pushkin, also known as Tsarkoe Selo. It is the village where Catherine and Peter held their kiddie court while Elizabeth still lived.
It's now called Pushkin Village and was a 25 minute bus ride south. The Catherine Palace was amazingly opulent and most of it was a renovation. The Germans bombed the hell out of it during the war, and in fact a couple of the rooms just reopened in the last year.
Quick lunch on the boat and in 20 minutes it's back on the bus for the city tour. I'll drag myself off the bus long enough to get some pix of some of the stuff we only saw while traveling between ship and the Hermitage.
Oh and two more Ted Turner sightings. The man sits at the first table on the left as soon as one enters the dining room. And he's wearing yellow paisley like suspenders with his jeans and denim shirt. Perhaps that's why Jane left him. Yellow suspenders?
