I was so happy to hear your voice tonight...several times.
I hope Thomas' niece Deeva can spare some time to take you around to some of the places you have researched and placed on your priority list of 'must sees'.
Remember, always call me anytime if you have any concerns. It doesn't matter what time of day or night it is. You would be amazed what I can do with a mobile phone and a computer!
For some reason, I never cease to amaze people. Including myself for that matter. Don't forget that 'certificate in computer technology' I achieved all those years ago. Actually your list of instructions have been the most helpful guide I have had so far.
I have read all your journal entries and am now completely up to date.
We have had a busy weekend. First of all I had Friday off because I was so sad about you leaving I couldn't stop crying on Thursday night and my face was so puffy on Friday I couldn't turn up for school or the kids would have been asking me all day what the matter was. So I ended up getting a fair bit done on my report cards.
On Saturday we went looking for second hand doors for the cottage. We couldn't find any suitable ones at the recycled timber shop in Water St. On the way home from Brisbane I called in at the antique shop at Marburg and found three matching sets of french doors. So I told Alex about them and we decided to go down to Marburg this morning and have a look at them together. We ended up buying them. So that worked out well. We paid for them but will go back on another day to pick them up. Now we have all the internal doors we need for the cottage.
After our jaunt down the range, we had to be at Meringandan for lunch at midday at a friend of Alex's, from his army days. They hadn't seen each other for forty years. He said Alex looked very well, that was encouraging. Following the luncheon we had to come home to meet Steve, Alex's brother, here. He had brought Warren up for a community cabinet meeting at the TAFE. He stayed for afternoon tea and then came back later for dinner.
Last night we went to Thai Royal at Southtown for my staff Christmas party. Only about half the staff came. I think the morale is a bit depleted at the moment. Diane invited the staff around for liqueurs and coffee to her home after the meal. After my altercation with her about the sharing of the swimming sessions spent back at school, I politely declined her offer and Alex and I came home, bought a bottle of champagne at the Newtown pub and drank it on the front verandah.
Zachary came in from Warwick for the weekend. He was really tired . He has been doing long shifts voluntarily, as some interesting cases came into the hospital.
Well my love, I will say goodnight and will talk to you again soon.
kiss, kiss, I love you, Mum and Alex
