Well today I decided to catch teh bus up to Mont Saint Sauveur, one of the closer montains just outside of montreal. Its funny as you travel up the highway going through the outer suburbs of montreal then all of a sudden you hit mountain country and it is absolutely breathtaking, what I wouldnt wish for one of the chalets up there, only and hour out of the heart of montreal.
Since it was Mont Saint Sauveur's opening weekend it wasnt all open yet, but there was an abundance of snow already, and the crowds were so small as to be almsot insignificant, at one stage I had the whole trail up up and down to myself, was an experience.
This mountian though has the best night skiing set up, as its needed as its dark here by like 430pm, so when the sun goes down the lights come on, and it has like 100% coverage for night skiing which is insane. You can ski at this place from 830am to 1030pm one the one lift pass for like 40 bucks student it crazy.
THe best thing about it though was that i still had my rhythm from last time and only stacked it once on a double black (it was pretty icy on that part scrapped my knees pretty good, lucky for me may pants are pretty thick there). There rating systems is about the same as ours although some blue runs were pretty easy, but for the main part it was awesome.
Its funny though most of the trails are blacks and they are the ones that lead to the lifts theres only two green runs all the way from the top, 5 blues and like 12 blacks haha but with all the powder it was heaps good
