On Easter Sunday, Caroline and I visited St Michaels Anglican church for their Easter service. It was a 15 minute walk from our house, through freshly laid (and blissfullly powdery) snow. The family service was lovely (and packed!) - we had traditional hymns, prayers and communion. The reverend also gave a sermon in the form of storytelling, about a ragman - a man who not only took people's old and used rags and replaced them new ones, but also took on people's pain, sorrow and wounds (eventually dying, but coming back renewed 3 days later). It was a very touching way to tell the Easter story. After the service, the children were told that 365 Easter eggs had been hidden outside the church for them to find - the only thing was that it had snowed overnight, so the eggs were buried! What a sight it was to see swarms of children digging around the churchyard (even amongst the grave stones) for chocolate eggs!
