For those who are yet to experience the pure gastronomical wonders of Yum Cha, it really is a must to try. Seated at a table (perhaps with a 'lazy susan' installed), one does not have to wait long before a line of Cantonese-speaking waitresses wheel in all sorts of delicious Chinese morsels by your table to pick and choose. Though you may not be able to pronouce any (or all) of the delicacies, your taste buds will definitely be able to appreciate the culinary splendour. Our family has some all time favourites which we try and have every time we visit, including ha gow (steamed prawn dumplings), shu mai (steamed dim sims), spring rolls, sticky rice wrapped in banana leaves, steamed chive and scallop dumplings, and egg tarts (for dessert). Yum!
