Well what can i say..... its been a blast....! For me by far the best stop so far, and i'm thinking its the same for scotty too...! We arrived on the island with the intention of staying 4 nights.... last night was number 7...! Drew headed for Samui a couple of days ago... he's loving it over there.... so me and scotty are heading over to join him this afternoon...!
It all started on the 13th when we arrived, scott and drew were booked on to do their open water certifications.... i had nothing planned and was just going to take it as it come.....
I booked myself onto a dive medic course.... just incase anything ever went wrong... that was interesting.....! First time i've found myself pumping a rubber dolls chest... who knows it may not be the last hey....!! thats enough said about that...!
So scott passed his Open water, Drew had a bit of trouble with his, motion sickness on the boat made him unwell underwater, so he has to finish his within a year... No Dramas, just 2 more dives...! Went out with the other lads one night, a couple of guys i met had finished their open water courses so they decided it was only right to go out and get hammered on the back of it.... and what a cracking night we had.....!! I went off and arranged for 2 4x4 trucks to take us all in the back to the bar... loaded up we set off down the road.... singing songs between trucks... lines of of films.... it was the funniest cab ride i've ever had... as we've pulled up outside the bar... im trying my hardest to look half cool int he back of this truck... steve's pulled the handle for the back of the truck and i've come rolling out the back of the truck in front of everyone.... i've never laughed so much.... must of been even funnier to watch...!!
After that was done and dusted, I did the advanced open water course with scott.... just 5 dives in different conditions.... deep dive, night dive, search and recovery, under water navigation and Fish Identification.... we had a right laugh doing it..! We're doing our night dive navigations... i went off on my own did mine... scott went off and did his.... as scotts come swimming back he's trying to tell us something... in the pitch black and 18 metres underwater its not all that easy so we didnt really know what he was going on about until we got back to the surface where i turns out that as he was swimming out on his nav test.... as he's looked up from his compass and shon the torch up.... he's face to face with a great baracuda....! rather you than me son....!!
When you get a moment guys have a little go on google and type in Tyton Trigger Fish.... now this is a story that'll stay with me for life...! We was down on our deep dive, and about 15 minutes from the end of the dive, a nice big fish comes swimming up below.... me being me and loving a photo.... wacks the camera out... swims right up to it..... gets in nice and close and starts snapping away.... as i've looked round scott and dan are making their way quickly east.... as fast as they can.... i thought somethings not normal here.... so i've swum after them when i feel something wack my fins.... i thought i may have finned a rock or something.... as i've looked round this fish is coming after me.... and boy has it got some teeth on it.... i then realised.... it was Trevor the Trigger....! He lives on White rock which is where we was diving..... and i dont know what i had done, but iu'd seriously pissed him off....!! 20 minutes i had this fish trying to bite me.... and believe me when they get you they get you.... one guy here had 7 stitches in his head the other week..... and some one almost lost their bottom lip when one got hold of them.... they mean business these things...!! finally he went and left us alone.... i was knackered...!!
Other than that.... its been diving, diving, diving.... and we've both loved every minute of it....! Met some wicked people here.... Dave Massive from essex.... the mans a legend.... 4ft nothing, funny as it comes and just a real nice bloke... he's a dive instructor at crystal but runs a bar here aswell called Choppers... wicked place...... spent most of my evenings in there....!
other than that all has been amazing... Koh Samui next party island....!!
