hello!! we are in the town of 1770 at the moment, and staying in a really nice hostel called 'cool banannas' which is a good place to come and chill after fraser island! we arrived on friday afternoon, and after a quick relax in a hammock went on a scooter-roo tour. This invloved us driving around on scooters looking for kangeroos in the bush, katie was a total pro due to previous history with the lime green moped! but milly soon caught up and spent the entire time trying to overtake everybody! We saw hundreds of roos and wallaybys which was cool as we hadnt seen kangeroos in the wild yet! the trip finished with being taken to a local pub and sitting on the rocks watching yet another beautiful aussie sunset- such a hard life!! the next day we spend chilling on the beach, milly hired a surfboard but due to the really strong currents retired quite early... as there is not a lot to do in this tiny town we are definitely spending a great deal of time working on the tan! so after that strenuious day we decided we should probably do something! so after a morining on the beach sunbathing and watching pro surfers from the rocks we went ocean kayacking which was really good fun, though quite hard work! we kayacked with a small group of people to a secluded beach where we had a swim and a glass of wine whilst watching yet another sunset! the trip to lady musgrave island for some snorkling was cancelled yet again (for the third time in a row!) so the plan for tomorrow is to hire more scooters and go exploring coz it was such fun last time! other news; milly finished a book in a very short amount of time which she is very pleased with! just finished a delicious supper, we are totally pro chefs due to all the self catering we have to due. katies GCSE in food tech had finally paid off! hope all is well at home.
