Mike & Benedict's World Adventures
Just an update from mike and benedict's world tour. It's our last day in Hong Kong today before a 2 day train journey through China begins tommorow as we make our way to Vietnam so thought i'd take the opportunity to update you people.
Hong Kong is a quality city although it lacks "proper" nightlife. Have seen some of the best views from "the peak" on Hong Kong Island looking over the whole of Hong Kong and have met some interesting characters in particular a French guy who hates Hong Kong as the locals don't know how to party and the Hong Kong woman aren't easy, his rant was worth the 12 hour flight.
The local food can probably be best described as colourful if not just about edible, so thank god for the 24hr McD's 2 doors down from where we're staying. Although saying that we did have a 5 course dim sum dinner which was brilliant. And the beef pie at an australian jazz bar was excellent.
Our adventures thus far have taken us to the world's largest outdoor sitting buddha in the world (with nearby monastery) which is at the top of a mountain. The bus journey alone allowed us to take in some amazing sites. We've also made our way through numerous parks and have made use of about every form of transport available in Hong Kong apart from bicycles (seems a bit too healthy).
The temperature has been averaging 20degrees out here so it's been shorts and t-shirts everyday and this also allowed a trip to one of the many beaches however the weather men over here seem to be slightly retarded (i don't see how you can mix up sunny with light drizzle) but any how it was a damn nice beach and once again on the bus journey we saw some beautiful sites.
There will be another update when i can be bothered. hope you are all well.
