I'm excited, I'm leaving la Paz after 6weeks...!! :-) its been a great place, meeting new friends, death road etc but my feet where itchy and I had to move on... I had a Skype call with few friends and family at brett and Bex wedding before i left and I had two realisations...
1: I missed them all ssooooooo much
2: I wasnt gonna emigrate to new Zealand...
Why would I wanna leave such a great bunch of people to live on the other side of the planet..?? So it was decided I just needed to sort a Career out for my return..??
I had a couple days in copacabana where I visited isle of the sun, and then made my way to Peru... The boarder crossing was possibly the easiest I had experienced so far, leave your bags in the bus, take your passport, smile and walk across the border..?! Brilliant...
Puno was a small town or at least felt a small town and I decided to visit the floating islands on my 2nd day... The boat was full of different internationals, some of who became good company and I hope will meet again, "don't where, don't know when, but I hope we're meet some sunny day...." ;-) the floating island where very touristy but was good to see how they live on islands made of reeds and why etc... I left puno on my 21st bus and headed to the city of south Peru called Arequipa... The hostel I had found online was almost full and they only had a 35sole 4bed dorm (£9) which had three chicks in it... Two more bloody australians who insisted on calling each other "BRO" and had colds that would keep me up all night, either coughing or snoring like an elephant through a trumpet... One even farted when she coughed too hard, these where truly ladies of the little Britain type... If one had, had a mustache I would not have been surprised..!! The other was a Brazilian chick who was hot, sweet and really didn't wanna be around the other two..
I walked up to a hostel I had heard of and stayed in one there others in another town called "bothy"... I intended to ask if they had room... The next day I moved there to the disarray of the owner
"why you wanna leave a room with 3chicks..??"
My answer a short and simple one, bothy is 18sole (£4.50p) a night and not a zoo, letting its dorm to two brogans.... Now I don't know what this word means but I do know Australians use it a lot, and think its hilarious that it's like they speak another language when they do... Well until I start speaking in cockney rhyming slang of course, when I do they all turn look at each other and pull a face like I'm talking French... Anyway i most state not all the Australians I meet are like this just the majority of them....
Anyway talking of French the next dorm had two Canadian chicks in it that spoke French as they where from Montreal.... There was also two Chilean chicks who where as crazy as a duck on a skate board and to put it politely a fat German bird who didn't stop eating or talking about food...
I spent the next few days visiting monasteries, churches, museums, and general site seeing stuff... The museum with the frozen inca princess was poss my fav part of town even though just an hour visit... She was sacrificed to the mountain at 14, she walked from cusco to Arequipa, which let me tell you is a feat in its own looking at the sandals she wore... She was killed with a blow to the head and left to be taking by the gods... Now when they say gods I think they mean the all seeing, knowing gods, not some U.S mountain climber called juan who was gonna dig her up and freeze her in a museum for all to see... Now fair play because she is a great find with body still in full condition, food in her stomach etc... She has been made a god I guess being 600 years old, but seriously warm her up, she is in a box at -20, in the dark, and in even more of a colder room in the museum... She could still be alive... Poor cow having brogan Aussies, and glass tapping Germans stare at her all day... (I'm only joking here remember before anyone gets s***ty at my dislike for foreigners) I love everyone...
I left Arequipa after 4/5days and headed to the world famous town of Nazca.... I was excited but all that could wait for the next chapter:
Nazca flying in a 6seater play with your head in a bag, ica, pisco and the poor mans galapagos or known in other places as "POO ISLAND"
Peace out much love Micky xxx
