BULA everyone from sunny Fiji.

So i survived my night in Sydney airport and had a good flight to Nadi airport. After a very warm welcome i had a short transfer to my accommodation for the night. I meet up with Keri who arrived in from NZ yesterday. Our hostel was right on the beach with was really nice shame i couldnt say the same about the hostel. I arrived late afternoon so didnt do much just chilled by the beach having a drink and a catch up with Keri.

The next morning we were up early for our transfer to Nadi ferry terminal to start our tour of the islands. I was not in a good mood at all when i woke up as i had been eaten alive by mosquitos 11 bites on 1 foot and someone had stolen my bone carving necklace that i had made in NZ. I was so pissed off to put it mildly. Keri didnt talk to me for about an hour think she was scared of me.
After i got over that we checked in for the ferry and had a 5 hour journey to the top islands. The weather was nice and hot so we just sat up on the top deck getting some rays. We passed loads of beautiful islands. I couldnt believe i was actually in Fiji.

Our first island was Coral view where we stayed for 2nights. There wasnt much of a beach here so we just spent our first day chilling out on the grass, but the next day we had a cave trip booked for the morning. Again the sun was out. We had a 40 min boat ride to the caves where we spent about an hour swimming around inside them. You could go through to some other caves from the main one but you had to swim through a small hole under the water in pitch black so i decided to give that i miss as i would probably have had a panic attack. Instead me and anoher girl stayed behind and ended up havin a panic attack when we saw a water snake. In the afternoon we just soacked up the sun. Oh its a hard life!

The next day we didnt leave till mid-day so after breakfast we sat in the sun again. Our next stop was Korovou. We only had 1 night here which was a shame as it was really good here. We had a swimming pool and a really nice beach. Food was good too chicken and pots. We joined in the entertainment on the first night which was hilarious and then we started on the drinking card games. A brilliant night but we all had very bad heads the next day. Again we didnt leave till the afternoon so as the weather was really cloudy me and Keri joined some others on the Manta Ray snorkelling trip. Well it didnt start off to good. They didnt have any flippers that fitted me and my mask was to big. The sea was really rough and we were all getting stung by sea lice and then the guides told us they hadnt seen any manta ray for over a week. I thought brill what the hell am i doing here. I was ready to go back when we finally saw one. We followed it for abit till we lost it. Then about 10 mins later we spotted another. It was really cool to see them and it made it all worth while then.

That afternoon we headed to our next island Kauta. This was our least favourite island and we had 2nights here. Our accommodation was right on the beach which was the only good point. Food was bad well especially for me and Keri who dont eat fish or red meat so we lived off bread. The weather wasnt to good either. We did do a reef snorkelling trip which was really good and even got to see the guides shark feeding. This was abit scarey though as the day before a girl got bit by one of the sharks supidly she was holding a piece of fish and it bit her finger. So i just made sure i stayed well back. We were also meant to do a guided kayak trip which we had paid extra for but for some reason they only had 1 kayak. We had abit of a moan and they said they would try and get some more from another island the next day. The next day they only came back with 1 more which still was no good plus they then said the sea was to rough so we couldnt go anyway. This was very annoying so i have to now try and get my money back.

Our last stop was Beachcomber which is meant to be the party island. We were abit worried as we hadnt heard many good things about it. However when we got there it was actually really nice. The island was really small we walked around in 5mins. The beach was beautiful and the food was amazing. They even had loads of free activites all day. We were only meant to have 1 nt here but the stupid girl from STA had messed things up and thought out trip of the islands finished on the 25th but it didnt it finished on the 24th so we didnt have any accomm for that night. I really didnt want to spend another night back on the main land at the rubbish hostel we spent the first night in so we decided to spend it on beachcomber instead. Oh and they had a limbo comp both nights we were there and ye you guessed i won both nights. My prize was any cocktail i wanted. So there is one thing good about being small sometimes. The weather also finally got better which really makes a difference in Fiji. We also had a seaspray cruise booked which was a day trip which included loads of nice food, cakes, friut and free flowing wine,bear and champange. There were soft drinks to but we didnt have many of them. We got to visit the island where the film Castaway was filmed and did some snorkelling again. We also visisted a local village which was really good. We first had a Kava ceremony which is the local drink of Fiji then got to look around a school and do some shopping at the local market. It was a really good day out and a brilliant end to a week in Fiji.

Our last stop was back to the main land. We spent 1 last night here before flying out the next day. Keri went back to NZ and i fly into Sydney. I had 2nts here and didnt end up doing anything as i had a really bad cold and ended up spending it in bed. Then Friday 28th May i finally flew to Perth where Emma picked me up. It was really good to see my little bro after 7 months and so nice to sleep in a nice big bed in my own room.

So ive come to the end of my travels for abit anyway. Got to find a job now and get some monies as im off to Darwin in Aug.
