A day in our lives.
I thought after so many question about our trip I would write about a typical day in our lives to give some perspective to what it takes to be on the road for months.
We usually get up between 7am and 8am, we will go and have showers and while Julie is away making her self beautiful I will pack up the inside of the tent, sleeping bags, mattresses, pillows and other gear apart from our bags. When Julie returns we have breakfast, then pack the bike and tent, we then put on our riding gear and pack the chairs. We get on the road between 9 and 10am. We usually ride until lunch between 12 and 2pm, depending on where we are, it may just be lunch or we may take in some sites while we are there. We will then ride again until between 4 and 5pm, by which time we hope to be at a camp ground. Some times we will have stopped and picked up some supplies for dinner on the way, if not we may buy some at the camp ground or we may buy dinner. After setting up our house and camp, this takes around an hour, we may have a look around the area until dinner between 7 and 8pm. After dinner we will usually use the Internet, if available, and do research on where we are headed the next day. We will check for camp sites, attractions and routes. We will usually be in bed between 10 and 11pm, ready to go again the next day. We do this regardless of the weather, rain, heat or wind. On our days off we will catch up on blogs, journal, washing or do some site seeing. Days off are usually when we arrive at a city and there is more to see, most site seeing is done while we are on the road.
All this does vary from place to place and country to country, but it would be close to typical.
