Vienna Capital of Austria. We start our day with a tour to Schonbrunn Palace the former summer residence of the Hapsburg family who ruled much of Europe for over 600 years. It is a most amazing building and the gardens are both extensive and beautiful. We have guided tour through 22 rooms of the palace and few time to explore the gardens. It is much warmer today and it is Saturday so it is quite busy.
We return to the ship for lunch after a drive around the Ringstrasse to see the amazing architecture of Vienna.
the afternoon is free so we go back into the city centre by the U-Bahn.
now we walk to the Hofburg Palace which was the official Winter residence of the Hapsburg Family. We take a horse drawn carriage ride around the streets of Vienna - a great way to see the city. Back at the palace we enquire about the Famous Spanish Riding school. Unfortunately the performances
Are Friday and Sunday so we miss out and they had a practice earlier on Saturday. We do however see them in the stables.
After a short time of browsing we make our way back to the U-Bahn and back to the ship.
Tonight most of the passengers are going to a Mozart and Strauss concert so we have a later dinner and an early night.
