This place is wonderful...just exactly like a big sandcastle in the middle of the desert. We are staying inside the Fort which is pretty awesome and gives us amazing views over the city. Got kicked out of our first hotel for not agreeing to go on their camel safari...anyone heading for Moti Palace; watch out!!! Quite funny, really, and have managed to find ourselves a little room owned by a very, very old man called Mr Volassi who owns a cushion shop.
The camel safari we DID choose to go on was amazing. Three nights and four days of complete wilderness with a man named Sarwan. (He was our camel driver, not a random. Fear not.) Despite some extreme pain of bottom on my part and some extreme smells of bottom on my camel's part, the trek was really relaxing. Falling asleep on rolling sand dunes under an incredibly vivid blanket of stars every night was wonderful. I have never seen the moon rise before. Always with a belly full of Sarwan's amazing campfire curries and chapati, too. We even tried our own hand at the chapati! Might need more practise before I invite you all round to dinner.
