mel and marks extended holiday!!
day 4!! after 14 very long hours we finally reached cambodia. the road from the border to siem reap was just a dirt track and fulled of pot holes!!!we had the window open to keep us cool and got really dirty-nice!!! we arrived at our hostel called angkor daisy, very basic but it had a bed and thats all we needed!!!and the cold water wasn't that bad!! day 5!! all the staff were very friendly in setting up today. the only way to get around is by motorbike, and trust they're dodgey!!!we had two tour guids with us all day and they wait for you and everything! But with no helmets thought we'd die bout 10 times!! Anyway went to all the famous temples and that including angkor wot. quite good actually. In one of them we had to climb the dodgey stone steps- it was well high, so impressed with myself, cause apparently some japanese guy fell not so long ago and cracked his head open! All of the little kids are so poor and they keep asking for money, one little girl asked where we were from and when we said england, she said "lovely jubley, top banana!" how cute!! day 6! woke up early as they thought we were going back to bangkok today- cheeky gits!! Anyway had our tour guides again and went to the crocodile farm, there were absoulotley loads!!! and loadsa stuffed ones so mark was happy!! After that we went on a peaceful boat trip in the river- it smelled like a sewer and people actuallt swam init!!thats about it for cambodia. It was said to be to dangerous to walk about at night so we just stayed in the hostel and drank.
