Related to these stories is another quite astonishing story of how ignorant one can be. When I first entered a park in Shanghai, which I think was actually somewhere in town possibly the park at peoples square I was amazed by the noise. It was a sort of artificial high pitching long lasting sound, which seemed to be produced by very bad speakers. I immediately assumed spotting a set of speakers nearby that this sound was produced as a mean to get rid of some sort of insect or other animal... Yeah... as most of you have probably guessed, it was the sound produced by the letter fellows in this picture. It was just so amazingly loud that I did not for a split second believe that it could be come from an animal. Especially if you consider how tiny the ones are I have seen in Europe.
