The idea behind my little journey was to get out of the city jungle and see some trees and get some "fresh" air. Well, after I arrived a lot of drivers in all sorts of vehicles, such as little busses, taxis, tricycles approached me to take me to the mountains. Anyway, I sticked to what my travelguide had told me and started walking... With hindsight I have to say, it would have been a reasonable decision to accept one of the various offers. It was a good 3/4 of an hour walk all along a street with not too much nice things to see and no directions or any assistance as to whether i was actually going in the right direction. I was fairly close to give up, when I arrived at the heart of Sheshan and by coincidence found the entrance to the mountain forest/garden. Obviously I had seen the mountains from the metro station but the way towards them was for a long time blocked by Golf resorts, Hotels or a massive sculpture park, so that I had to walk all along the mountains before i could actually turn to walk towards them.
