We have conquered Sydney. In the few days we have spent here, we have visited the Opera House, walked the Harbor Bridge, seen the harbor from land and ferry- both day and night, went to the Taronga Zoo, Blue Mountains, and Manly Beach. Today we spent the day at the markets and at Bondi Beach. Our search for the perfect kangaroo hides were finally successful! People were still surfing at Bondi, although the temperature is in the 60s.
We have enjoyed the many different ethinic foods found here in Sydney. One of our favorites is to find a pub that offers a cheap dinner if you buy a drink. You can't beat a $10.00 steak and mash!
The city is full of students (and the Pope) for World Youth Day. The festivities officially begin on the 15th so we are glad we will be out of here before the traffic really gets crazy.
Off to New Zealand! Christchurch here we come!
