We didn't want to miss one of the seven wonders of the modern world, this also meant we got to add Paraguay to our list of visited countries. The Itiapu Dam is the largest hydro electric facility in the world and is a sight to behold, but also highlights the co-operation between two neighbouring countries, Brazil and Paraguay.
The who setup showcases a great use of renewable power. Supplying 75% of Paraguay's power and 25% of Brazil's power. This is all thanks to the huge Paraná river. The operation also features numerous science parks and education centres that not only provide well paid jobs but also educate children on environmental matters.
It was a great experience only slightly hampered by a bit of rain and an open top bus.
