7am start this morning and my legs were not happy with me after that big climb the day before.
We had a lot of driving to do today and only a few stops. We had lunch in a small place called Hyden and then onto Mulka's Cave which is another sacred spot to the Aboriginies. Apparently Mulka was rejected from his tribe as he had cross eyes and couldn't hunt. He went to live in the cave and because he couldn't hunt he was getting hungry and ended up grabbing the children from the tribe that would stray to far from home and he would eat them. Lovely guy!
From there we went on to the very impressive Hippo's Yawn and Wave Rock. Hippos Yawn is just that, a big gaping hole in the rocks. Wave Rock was awesome. It is basically a rock that is shaped like a wave and is all different colours due to lichen and algae that grow on it which just enhance the wave image. Photos don't do it justice, has to be seen to be believed.
From there it was onto Esperance which was to be our stop for the night. The beaches (like Ten Mile Lagoon and Twilight Bay) around Esperance are stunning - clear blue ocean, white sand stretches for miles.
