After our long long overnight trip from Airlie Beach we finally got to Noosa Heads. We arrived at our hostel, booked up some surfing lessons and some camel rides and went to find our room. We'd booked into the YHA after being told it was really nice by someone, and having found the YHA in Airlie to be very clean. It was definitely the nicest hostel we stayed at in the whole of Australia. Clean beds, pristine bathrooms, helpful staff and even nice room-mates!
We wondered into town to get our bearings and find out where everything was. A very nice place, the expenisive restaurants and general ambience gave it away as being quite posh and well-to-do but we liked it. Reminded Hannah of Cheltenham/Me of Marlow but by the sea.
The next day we got up bright and early for some surfing lessons having missed out at Surfers Paradise. It was really good fun, our coach Trent had us both standing up after a few wipeouts! We wont be winning any competitions just yet, but were both very happy with our performance! Bit disappointed we didnt get photographic proof of us standing up but that couldnt be helped.
In the afternoon we had fun Camel Riding on Noosa North Shore, and you can watch a bit on the video (fingers crossed i can load it after this). Hannah rode Sandy and i had Nimrod. With sore bums we went back to our room for our last night in a comfortable bed before New Zealand.
The next day we were leaving for Brisbane and the airport in the afternoon. We wondered down to Noosaville for a walk around and made a trip to the post office (more stuff sent home!) before hopping on the Greyhound. With an early flight to New Zealand we thought we'd get to the airport the night before and sleep rather than spending money on 4 hours accomodation. So we both found a couch and caught about 3-4 hours sleep.
Australia down, we look forward to New Zealand.........Christchurch is our first stop.
