Arrived in Washington on Monday afternoon and got to our hotel which was right in the centre of Washington. Lovely hotel with lots of nice facilities and even its own business centre where we can actually use the computer rather than walking miles trying to find one. Washington is great, such a big city, kind of like a smaller New York. One minute you will be in the main stream of everything with yellow cabs and traffic as bad as the m25, the next, you will be in a lovely historic village! We decided to take the tourist bus which took us all around the main attractions like the White House and the Monument which was really nice. While looking at the White House we got escorted away by police.....not sure if the main man was on his way in or out but they said it was normal action which they take everyday.
Today we had a bit of a lie in and then sorted out our hotel for New York as we are staying an extra night. Weather has been awful all day and hasnt stopped raining so kind of reminded us of back home. Was quite nice to go outside and not sweat after walking 100 yards. We then went to a place called George Town which was like a little village in DC where we looked around the shops.
Tomorrow we get the bus to Phily which is only around 3 hours away so not too bad. 3 Nights there which we also have a hotel in a good location....not as nice as this one though!! Then off to the Big Apple for our last 4 nights, cant believe this time next week we will be on that plane!!
Hope everyone is ok, we will be seeing you very soon!
Lots of love xxxxxxxxxx
