Another huge HIGH was today!!!
I have always wanted to see Niagara Falls and today I was WOWed! We went across the border again today to view the falls from the Canadian side and it was beautiful. But our first problem was a RV park and where to actually park. Again God supplies!! We were able to walk along this pathway near the falls and then we decided to go on the "Maid of the Mist" which is a boat that journeys along the base of the American Falls and the Canadian Falls (in the above picture is the Canadian falls known as the 'horseshoe falls'. We had to go down a long path and put on these very blue and plastic ponchos.
It was incredible - I thought that we might get some spray .... but NO .... it was a full on downpour where it was hard to even open your eyes .... right at the base of the horseshoe falls (as you may imagine we didn't get any photos... bit wet!) We stayed relatively dry, but there are holes around the armholes and water managed to flow down my arm so I wasn't as dry as Mark was. Emma at one stage was crouching down at the rail with the poncho covering her completely, but she did get a little wet. Jonah wanted to keep his hood off but soon changed his mind. Christian managed to get the most wet ... the force of the water sent a huge wind which blew the ponchos around.
Our lunch was held looking over the falls eating pizza .... YUM!
After looking at this side of the falls we drove back to the USA side (going through customs each time) and this side was not as spectacular as we saw just the top of the falls .... also couldn't find a park, but we did drive around the little island in the middle of the falls called Goat Island.
What a great day and tomorrow we head to New York City - about a 7 hour drive ... we'll have to leave early.
God Bless - love, Anne
