A Lutheran Youth Encounter Re-union
On Sunday, we worshiped with Melheim's and Lysne's in Stillwater, and then traveled to Minneapolis to our good friends Ted and Steph Rossing. I spent time on team with Ted in 93-94 traveling to Denmark, Germany and Norway.
On Sunday afternoon, Ted and Steph graciously opened their home to host a Lutheran Youth Encounter re-union of all our friends while we were on team and staff. Our Captive Free team was all there (Kenyon, Dan Womp)- 19 years since we first were together.... this was the team where Anne and I met. The staff of Youth Encounter of the 90's came and it was just fun and it was like we had never been apart. To our amazement, 35 adults and 24 children came to visit us! We were overjoyed to catch up with these friends that were a big part of our lives in the early 90's. Thank you to all who came!
On Monday, we took the kids to the Mall of America, the largest mall in the USA, where we went on a few rides. (There is an amusement park in the middle of the mall!) It was fun to look around and see all the new and different things.
In the afternoon, we visited our good friends Swen, Kristen and Carston Swenson. And then had tea (dinner) with Dave & Julie Scharnhorst. It was great to catch up with these wonderful friends.
Tuesday, we went exploring to find our old home in South Minneapolis and then went for a bike ride around Lake Harriot. This was a beautiful day (Spring has finally come and the caterpillars were dropping on us!), and we thoroughly enjoyed our ride around the lake and the icecream half way. We could have ridden all day!
Today, (Wednesday) we are going to see Ted in a theatre production of "How to talk Minnesotan". Ted is an actor and has been in several movies, and local productions. It will be fun to see him act again.
We have really enjoyed our time here in Minneapolis were we have caught up with good friends. Thanks Ted and Steph for your incredible generousity and hospitality. It is greatly appreciated!
