Just had to add a wow! too, having seen your latest photo album - some absolutely stunning shots! What wouldn't your Mum and I give to stroll through that bazaar for an hour or three (though might give the butcher a miss!). Some fantastic scenery too - well done you! It's a joy to follow you on your travels. Take care.

Just back from our trip to Cuba and I've so enjoyed catching up on your adventures - you really are a most descriptive writer and I feel sure there could be a book at the end of this trip. In fact 'Matt travels India' is the perfect title! The photo's are great too - my favourite so far is probably the one taken in the backwaters of Kollam (I think it was) - lovely light and a very evocative subject. It's hard to believe you've been gone such a relatively short time, and done so much. Hope you can keep it up!
Meanwhile, this is the first time I've been on holiday and not been able to send you a postcard. So just to make up for the omission ('cos I know how much you look forward to them, ha, ha):
Dear Matthew
Weather extremely disappointing, very windy, sometimes wet, mostly cloudy, but always warm. However, 5 star hotel facilities, a wide range of cocktails, and some great live music are just about managing to keep up happy. Himself not too well, having caught a chill after getting soaked in a downpour, whilst my greatest adventure so far a trip to a dentist having demolished one of my incisor's eating soup! So, a unique momento of Cuba in the form of a refurbished enamel tooth (done very well, actually).
The beach is beautiful but can't swim in the sea because of the constant red flag alert, however the pool is lovely too (and deserted most of the time). Food is absolutely fantastic - particularly the fish which is virtually all we eat - and the Cubans are great hosts and nearly as 'smiley' as Indian houseboat crews it would seem!
Hope you continue to have a great time on your travels and thanks for keeping in touch.
Much love
Godmother Sue
P.S. Thanks for your postcard from Sri Lanka - waiting for me on the mat when we got home and a lovely surprise.
P.P.S. Isn't your Mum doing well - a natural after all!
