Lake Matheson is so nice I'm going to see it twice. Today started out averagely but the clouds rolled away as we got to Fox, home of the Fox Glacier, to reveal the beautiful backdrop of Mounts Tasman and Cook. I've learnt some things in Franz Josef. One is about glaciers and how cold they can be, i.e. freezing. I'm a little disappointed. I slept through an earthquake in Wellington, which happened around 2:15am, just after I'd got to sleep! The ferry crossing to Picton was interesting too, when apparently a huge wave hit us head on. I missed that too, though I did feel the whole boat jolt. Nelson is a pretty nice little place.
