We got to Chiang Rai via bus it took about 4 hrs from Chiang Mai. We were due to stay with the Akha hill tribe in the mountains. Our transport picked us up from the Akha river house hotel, it was a Toyota Hilux pick up the drive strapped our luggage to the roof and we had to stand in the back! It had been raining earlier in the day but luckily for our bags it didn't rain for our journey. It took about an hour to get up to the tribe on some very iffy roads and...

Can't really say a lot about Mumbai as we only stayed in the airport, but from what I saw and smelt I won't be rushing back. We also soon found out Indian men really don't know to stand in a line!

Landed into Bangkok airport about half 7 at night after 16 hours of travel both feeling a little drained and in need of a proper bed, then we hit passport control which was frankly a piss take! We totally picked the wrong line and were there for a good hour and a half while everyone from our plain had gone through got their luggage and gone. When we eventually got to the luggage pickup there was just two lonely rucksacks going round on the carousel. We finally go...

Over six months of planning and waiting had come to a head, it was finally time for our journey to begin! Who knows what adventures we will get ourselves into! After saying some emotional goodbyes we got underway. Annette kindly took us down to Hethrow where the nerves really started to kick in nothing a drink to toast us off wouldn't sort out though.
