We noticed that war memorials in France carried the names of Jews killed by the Vichy government. We joined the small crowd to show our respects, but most of the locals were our age or older. There were 4 young men from the Ambulance Brigade, but they didn't join in the Marseillaise (our excuse was that we didn't know the words, what was theirs, we wondered)?
