Hello from Fraser I'v jsut spent the last 3 days on the island. its part of this large package deal i have. basicaly i woke up at 5:45 in the am had an hour long breifing about how not to destroy the island enviroment. then got in our rusty 4x4 picked up our camping gear and drove onto the ferry. after about 45mins of ferrying across to the island we drove off and were instantly hit with a steep hill climb. unfortunatly im only19 and u had to be 21 to drive, so alex took the wheel and managed to get us over the hill some how. we drove around a bit, loojked at a fresh water lake, which was sooo nice, unfortunatly the weather wasnt, spitting rain etc. so we set up camp behind the dunes on the beach. luckuly we had a chef on our jeep and he cooked up a storm with a feast of chicken, glazed carrots, fryed veg, baked spuds etc. was perfect! next day we went to some sights, the wreck etc, pritty rubbish but was a good laugh gettin there . that night we settled down in another camp site by the beach, each night the other 4x4's joined us so we were never alone, partying till the early morn.so on the last day we took the scenic tour to a lake, and yeh that was a bumpy road, climbing tracks with 1 or 2 feet steps, all i can say is that everyoen was brused at the end of that stretch of road! and well that was fraser island, lots of drink fun and well worth a trip to, i'll come back here some day!
