Pavones, the famous lefthander wave.... At last we have found them! Yeah, after running a week after Becky and Aaron,( my flatmates from England on a world trip too) and spending four very nice days in Dominical, a beautiful late back and calm beach surrounded by deep jungles and superb mountains, we have finally reached Pavones. Pavones is famous around the world for its very long left wave, supposed to be the second longest. That bay is bordering Panama and was naturally a logic stop for us before our trip to Panama where I am writing from. Mark is in the hotel with a strong migraine and let me write to you instead. So lets go back to explain our stay in Pavones for 10 days. When we arrived after a 7 hours bus journey from dominical, we found becky, Aaron, Adam and Louise in some cabinas. we were going to stay at the same place but we noticed that the last bed was full of aunts, thousands of them coming out of the wooden bed, we asked the manager to change the bed or fumigate but he just shaked the matress and let it under the sun for 30 minutes, so we did not stay there and found a bright new room, not even finished for much cheaper, real luxury,new , clean, big with shower a bit higher on the hill. The whole week, we surfed and waited for bigger swell that nver came, walked, relaxed. I taught English to a local girl and Spanish two hours a day to an American guy to make a bit of money. he was already very good so it was a real pleasure to teach him. the days went fast although it is quiet and there is not much to do.... Monday the 3rd, we left to Panama where we will be travelling for three weeks before flying to peru hopefully... At the border, becky and I baught delicious 7 years of age rum and had a look around. we travelled all day yesterday to try to reach a beach called Santa Catalina. We neraly made it but missed the last bus, so we had to sleep in a s***hole. We are going to jump in the bus in an hour, so i better make this short.
