We traveled on this Train between Adelaide and Alice Springs. Apparantley called the Ghan after the Afghanistan workers who worked on the line with their camels. The Afghanistan's have left but the Camels remained and multiplied. There is currently a cull on Camels at the moment because there is too many and they are destroying farmers land.
