mark and richie... hi, only third day in thailand and already feels like we've been here ages...can't imagine what we're gonna be like in 5weeks time! have been mainly hanging out in the backpackers area (bangalphu- khao san rd.), and unfortunatly have not been able to see the city in its true colours yet.. have had to cut our stay in bangkok shorter than expected as want to make it down to the full moon rave in ko phangan (southern east coast island). the city is very intense and walking across the roads is a nightmare! got to visit the old bangkok today, had our own personal guide as met an old thai history teacher who wanted to show us around the old bangkok and their simple way of life- just across the river and unventured by many tourists. was fantastic and both of us were amazed by how truly friendly the people are! went to a thai kickboxing stadium last night to watch the up and coming muaythai fighters.. kicked ass! (got seriously brutal in 1 or 2 of the matches) wish we could stay a bit longer as there is so much to see but we have our priorities, and full moons dont come every weekend haha departing bangkok tonight to catch the night coach down to surat thani (then boat ride to ko phangan) will try and update as soon as we can mark and rich
