At Sea to Japan
April 9, 2008
Well, back to ship life… and it is going to be another fast two days before we get to Japan.Everyone is exhausted from their trips to Beijing, which everyone enjoyed.Today, it was normal day on the ship, going to classes, meetings, work and getting ready for our arrival in Japan already!!For many of us, the being back on the ship has been rough as our bodies have been so used to land for the past four weeks. We have not had rough seas, but the motion is getting a lot of people a bit nauseated, but nothing major.I guess it has to be that way since we have been doing so much land visiting.

Life boat drill day!!Today we had our third life boat drill, as usual, fun and long.It was actually nice to have this life boat drill in the later afternoon and for the weather not to be HOT.You see for our life boat drills we must dress in long pants, long sleeves, closed shoes and wear our life jackets at all time.It usually takes about an hour for us to go through the drill. While the captain was doing his walking inspection of our stations, he found a few students who were not dressed properly, and he took them out of the crowd and back into the ship with him.Oh well, they should know by now to follow the directions and how serious the dress code and the life boat drills are.
With our arrival to Japan here tomorrow and us not returning back to the ship until Monday night, we have been working hard to get our charity auction set and planned. The students are doing a great job on there work and it is all coming along well.We have until April 17 to get everything organized and ready to go for this large even on the ship.
