BRIGHT AND EARLY Monday morning did in fact get off to a promising start. First of all, because the cold drove me under the warm covers to bed a bit early (it is still odd to see it is still light out when we tuck in!) , I awoke a bit earlier than usual, before 6. GREAT NEWS! No matter whose measures you´re using, as of today I am more than halfway to Santiago! Today we dipped below the 400 km left to go mark, at day 18 on the Camino. Of course, I still plan to go on to Finisterre, which is another 100km or so on the agenda, so I am not really halfway yet...but since Santiago is the official measure for the Camino, I´ll take this milestone all the same. BEYOND BURGOS Much as leaving Pamplona marked a certain turn in the travels, the road beyond Burgos promises another change in both the emotional and physical landscapes. SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO? That was the question that I contemplated upon waking up Friday, and which preoccupied me for much of the day. There were lots of reasons to stay on to explore Burgos, and I have to say that only mere hours off the Camino and into "regular" mode, I was liking creature comforts like hot showers and ready wifi and not wearing my boots all day long. The thing is, I was concerned I was liking them TOO much...even less than a day already...
