hi everyone ,

well 2 weeks into the trip and all going well so far! we enjoyed singapore, loads to see there and hot hot hot. after 3 nights we moved to brisbane and ona rrival the weather was cloudy which was disappointing. stil it soon warmed up. and today in the 30's . nice when you hear also taht it rainy and cold at home.

we went up to visit the great barrier reef. which took us an hour flight but on arrival at the resort of airlie beach. wow what a fantastic place. had the feel of a caribbean island and party town. loads of backpackers. etc. nadia and chris enjoyed staying out in bars of backpackers. us older ones retired a bit early. with the sun rising at 5 , we wernt long to follow and by 10pm the old body needed rest. we headed out to the reef on a catmaran on the 2nd day and snorkelled over the reef which was awesome. seeing all the coral and fish.

we flew back down to brisbane and next day travelled to the moreton bay resort of tongalooma on another catmaran. here we were again overwhelmed with the scene that met us when we docked. beautiful sea, sand and sun. and the resort was packed with things to do. most of all we hand fed the dolphins which arrive every night at sunset from the ocean just to be fed. what a fantastic experience and two dolphins had little baby ones with them. next day we went on a sand tobogan ride. this involved climbing to to top of a huge huse sand dune in the sandy desert of the island. (the third largest sand island in the world) very hot even at 9am in the morning. but the experience of going downhill on a candle wax board was unbelievable. nadia one the t shirt for the furthest slide.

after this we went out to see the humpback whales which are on their way back to the antartic after giving birth at the warm waters of the barrier reef. we saw a pod of about 10 which was amazing.

nadia and chris went off to hong kong on sunday ooh how sad after spending a fortnight with them it was sad to be just left us two. still how nice for nadia and chris to be going to see hong kong. they should be home tomorow . weds 29th so there will probably be lots of photos on facebook.

we went to byron bay yesterday. that was nice a kind of laid back hippy town i guess. it was hot and wind was light but still came away with red faces. today we having a relaxing day back at surfers paradise and popped into this internet cafe. at the moment am staying at friend house sue. lovely house about 30mins away from here. we need a vehicle though to travel. anyway more to come . please leave any messages. love mag and budgie .
