The reason I didn't write a Blog the last couple of days was, because I went on a 2Day Tour to Kangaroo Island on Monday. Before leaving I said 'Good Bye' to everyone who continued the Adventure Tour to Melbourne or Sydney. Everyone was very sad, but we'll meet up at some stage again…
My Tour to Kangaroo Island started about half past6 in the morning. After 2hrs drive down to Cape Jervis, we boarded the Sealink ferry across Backstairs Passage to Penneshaw, where we met our local island guide. Our first stop was Prospect Hill, a Lookout with views over an amazing landscape. A few driving minutes away was Pennington Bay, one of the Island's stunning surf beaches. Around midday we went to the only commercial eucalyptus distillery in South Australia at Emu Ridge. Our next stop was Seal Bay, where we could get up very close to the sea lions lying on the beach. To have some fun between taking pictures of sea lions, beaches etc. we went to little Sahara and did some sand boarding! Because of all the sand in our underwear, in our hair etc., we stopped at Vivonne Bay to have a refreshing swim. In the early evening we arrived at our farm-stay accommodation. After dinner some of us got ready to spot kangaroos, wallabies and possums on a guided nocturnal walk. I decided to go to bed early, because I was still drunk from the nights before and overtired… The 2nd day we spend in Flinders Chase National Park. First we drove to Remarkable Rocks, had some fun there with climbing the rocks, and then went to Admirals Arch on Cape du Couedic. Before lunch we hiked 4km's through Snake Lagoon without spotting any snakes. To finish the day and wash away all the dirt and sweat, we went to the North Coast, visiting Stokes Bay, where a rock tunnel leads to an idyllic and "secret" beach. Afterwards we returned to Penneshaw and went back to the mainland and Adelaide!
Today I spent the whole time in bed, writing these Blogs… And tomorrow I'll take a plane to Perth; my flight is 6:30am in the morning. That means getting up early again…
