So, I've left Ngorogoro and am back in Dar overnight before heading to Botswana.
Yesterdays game drive was amazing (I need a new word lol) - had really close up visits from a hyena and then two big male lions decided to relax beside the road, drinking from the pools of water - was total bliss.
I wasn't a huge fan of the lodge, it was pretty and the views were spectacular, but it didn't have the Africa feel. There were no buffalo munching outside my tent, no monkeys jumping on the roof, no lion roaring in the distance - was depressing after being at Mbuzi Mawe. I loved it there.
Oh, further proof the Americans I'm coming across are morons - yesterday we had lunch at a water hole in the middle of the Crater. Marco told me to eat in the car as there were a lot if kites around and they tend to be rather aggressive. Everyone else was told the same, so a group if 4 Americans decide to ignore their guide and eat on the grass. Naturally, the kites begin to gather and swoop in. 3 decide to get in the jeep, but one? No, he knows better. He 'hides' between two jeeps. The following scene was hilarious - kites dive bombing him one after the other. He actually shook his fist at the sky. Tard.
I'm exhausted today and am getting collected at 4:30am for my flight to J'Burg followed by a connection to Maun. It's 5pm and I'm contemplating dinner and sleeeeps.
Hope you are all well
