Today we went on a tour of Rio and it was brilliant. The guide was a lovely man called Claudio and was so passionate about all of the sites! He took us to Sao Contado beach which is beautiful and then along to the Tisuca National park which is massive. Within the park we found the most beautiful Taunay waterfall.

After this we went to see the Santa Teresa art district and the lapa bohemian district which were both fascinating. We passed along the Favela which is so crowded with houses after houses.

We went up to see Christ The Redeemer which was amazing. The views were breathtaking. It has a lovely little place of worship inside called the black Mary but we just admired that from outside as lots of people were praying inside and we didn't want to disturb them.

We then went to see the lapa steps which was amazing. It has all different coloured tiles and is beautiful. We had lunch with our group and then headed back.

After a little walk along copacabana beach we went back to our hostel and just chilled out with a couple of beers. It was the perfect first day.
