The Cavalerie building which is part of the Ecole Militaire complex which was created by Louis XV in 1751 at the urging of his favorite mistress Mme. de Pompadour, who wanted to transform "poor gentleman" into educated officers. Napoleon Bonaparte graduated from this military school.
