The last day has finally come. Packing 5 cases was an interesting task, if the boys had their way they'd just chuck it in and hope for the best but they soon got the idea that you needed to take care, especially with breakables. I think their biggest concern was getting their stash of chocolates home. We packed (which took way too long) and headed to the restaurant at the bottom of the Hotel Mela for breaky. We checked out of the hotel, stored our cases and just wandered the streets of Times Square. The boys wanted to go back to Guitar Centre where they spent time strumming, banging drums etc. - it filled in some time. We then went to 8th Avenue and had a final piece of pizza, well for me it was one for Liam 4. More wandering and last minute shopping for us all and then the boys still hadn't had enough to eat so off to Maccas they went. I wandered the shops on my own brought a couple of tops and then went to meet the boys. It was great the boys could go off together and they felt comfortable enough to do that in Times Square. We really were starting to feel like locals. Our flight was schedule for 6.10 pm but I had a feeling we should leave around 2pm, waiting around and filling in time is the worst. So off we went and collected our cases and caught an Uber - bad mistake. It took us 2 hours and cost me $200. Alas all my money had gone. We made it to JFK Airport and waited and waited and waited. Our plane was delayed. So when we got to Los Angeles it was literally off one place down and ramp and on to another. We were better prepared for the flight home and actually managed to get some sleep, Liam more than Dylan and I. Many movies later we arrived home. Picked up our bags and straight through customers. I can honestly say we had no issues at all with luggage, flights etc. it was smooth sailing. I actually felt like Leigh was watching over us the whole trip, pretty special. Vic and Ian came to pick us up together with the boys girlfriends. Dylan and Joclyn went their own way and the rest of us travelled back with Ian. I have to say it was one of the best experiences of my life, to share it with my two beautiful young men was special. We got on really well, hardly any arguments and we shared some really special moments together. We laughed, we cried, we had wow moments but the most important thing for me was that I was able to spend some time getting to know these wonderful young men again. They are both very special in their own way and I'm proud to call them my sons. I love you both, I hope you had the trip of a lifetime and it has given you a taste of the world and what it has to offer. Go off and explore it, it will give you confidence and the appreciation for what you have at home. xxxxx
